Clarins isn't a brand that I am very familiar with, so when the lovely ladies at the Bullring Bloggers Event invited me to an appointment to find out about their skincare and new make-up campaign, I snapped up the chance. I mean I seem to be spending a lot of time in the new Beauty Hall at Selfridges but that just goes to show that it is full of talented people, who are knowable and don't act like snobs when you ask them questions. Something that I felt about the Beauty Department in the past but I am glad that my perception and the people have changed their attitudes, as well of the aesthetic of the floor.
The lovely Heidi sat me down and talked me through what my skincare concerns on and what I wanted my skin to me. I let her know about how my skin can be quite dry in the t-zone area and a tad oily in the cheek area, the quintessential combination skin.
We went through the skin care products that she thought I would suit the best, as well as trying them out on me.
Heidi started with the Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser with Peach Essential Water, then the Toning Lotion With Camomile, Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, the legendary Clarins Double Serum, Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correcting Lotion SPF 15 and lastly the Eye Contour Balm (shown in the picture below).
I had cleansed and toned in the morning of that day and had not put any makeup on but these pictures show the results of what exfoliator cleaned up on my skin. Seriously, that is disgusting. It goes to show that some products clean really thoroughly.
I know that Clarins is known for skincare and now I can see why, I especially liked how the exfoliator has no beads in it but it works even more efficiently and does not irritate sensitive skins, such as mine. All the products appear to be well thought out and there are products to suit all, they are investment quality products and the price reflects that. But the products sizes are quite big so you do get alot of product for your money. The samples I received on the day, I will be using to see if I need to purchase, so far the Double Serum and Exfoliator are in my wishlist.
Now the makeup is for emphasising what you have, it is quite natural and would be perfect to achieve a peachy beach glow.
Heidi used 3 products on me, all shown in the above picture, and it was perfect to give me a subtle glow.
Thank you to the lovely Heidi for the run through and for educating me in all things Clarins. However, my bank balance won't be thanking you in the future but my skin will.
Have you tried Clarins? Is it as good as people say? Who are these people?!
