Beside Wayland's Yard, I am yet to find a substantial vegan brunch option. Until Boston Tea Party came out with The Vegan Boss!
This boss of a brunch option contains scrambled tofu, hash browns, a sweetcorn fritter, mushrooms, spinach, baked beans, roasted tomato and two rounds of toast. There is also a slighter smaller option called The Vegan, that contains scrambled tofu, hash browns, mushrooms, roasted tomato, baked beans and toast. Me being me opted for the huge ass option in The Vegan Boss, without the tomato of course, because yuck. One word - wow. Loved the turmeric in the scrambled tofu, love how the hash browns melted in my mouth and how everything worked so well together. My one and only critique is that I found the sweetcorn fritter to have a overpowering taste of onion and rosemary. However, that is because I am not a fan of either of those. I'm not normally this fussy. This would also be great with the addition of a avocado drenched in chilli and lime. Overall, it's a great vegan brunch option!
As well as the brunch being ace, the decaf oat latte was pretty spot on too. Silky and not bitter, as well as very aesthetically pleasing.
They also have a couple of vegan cake options in the Date and Walnut, Coffee and Walnut, as well as Power Balls.
I haven't tried the Power Balls but I can honestly say that the other two options are amazing. Both are moorish, you get a big slab of them and you can even tell they are vegan. That's always a plus when that happens.
Also, whoever is in control of the music at the Boston Tea Party in Edgbaston needs a medal because they were playing the likes of Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Dolly Parton and Lauryn Hill. Major kudos!
So glad that Boston Tea Party has not only come out with vegan options but they are damn good options that I can wholeheartedly endorse. Thank you BTP!
**The views in this blog are my own but the food and drinks were complimentary**
Would I go back? Hell yes!
How did they cope with the vegan dietary requirement? So easily, as everything is labelled well.
What are the prices like? The Vegan Boss is £10.50, The Vegan is £8.50, coffees are around the £3 mark and cakes £2.75. Not bad for the portion and quality
What is eatery best for? When you're craving a vegan fry up and can't be bothered to do it yourself.
Hope you enjoyed this review. Let me know if you're been and what you thought
