I remember going to Vodka Revolution when I first moved back from university, it was slightly tacky, the clientele was mostly students and it didn't have the best reputation, especially not for food. Cut to four years later, Vodka Revolution has changed to Revolution and the whole franchise has had a whole style makeover and it isn't a bad one at that.
I am quite lucky to work in such close proximity to Broad St, Five Ways and Brindley Place, this means that payday always means a new place to try or a quick trip to Pret. But on this Wednesday lunch time I decided to try out Revolution and see what my fellow foodie bloggers were going on about. I was the only customer at the bar/restaurant and went for the Bean Dreamin' burger and the BBQ Fries on the five pounds menu. I don't like buns, so asked for it to be bunless and asked for it to not have any dairy. They had an allergen menu that the waitress seemed to be slightly clueless about and needed extra prompting to get but she was friendly and accommodating and probably thought I was a right weirdo for not having a bun in my burger.
It took a while for my order to arrive and I had to rush and eat, as I had to get back to work, but it tasted really good. You could tell it was fresh, the beetroot worked well with the peashoots, bean burger and oaky smoky houmous. The amounts were perfect, the portion size was spot on as the taste and the BBQ fries, which were fries with a sprinkling of BBQ powder, were awesome too, especially with a little BBQ sauce. Perfection for a BBQ flavour lover like myself. I was surprised by the quality of the meal and the five-pound price tag but because of the wait, I would have to forego it. Maybe I could ring in advance?
Food - 5/5
Dairy-free options? - 4/5
Not used to allergen requests but allergen menu is available. Maybe more training on this needed. Not many options for vegans but I reckon they would be happy to adapt a dish to your preference.
Service - 3/5
Tried to help but you could see the lack of knowledge but still friendly.

Have you been to Revolution? Have you thought of trying their food? What did you think?
*I was not paid to do this review, nor did the restaurant know I would be attending*
