Hidden away on Holloway Head, just opposite the Radisson Blu in Birmingham, is a little gem of a hotel.
It once used to be the Ramada Encore and I have to say that I didn't really know it existed.
It's a good location if you want to visit Birmingham for a night out or are in Birmingham just for a night. It is located round the corner from Mailbox and Arcadian, a 15 minute walk from New Street Station and there are bars about 10 minutes away. Some people have commented on its TripAdvisor page that it is a scary at night around that area but I did not feel like that at all because it has a constant flow of traffic.

You can tell it has had a recent refurbishment because the decor is modern cosy and quite shiny.
The hotel also has a gym, that can be used by guests, whenever they want.
It is quite small but has all the amenities that you could want.
The room that I was staying in had a sofa, TV, desk, double bed and shower/wet room.
It seemed quite basic, in comparison to the bar and the restaurant. The sofa was quite battered, the flooring the same and it felt like a one step up from a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge. However, little things like the movies on the TV and bathroom toiletries do make you feel spoiled. But I did wonder why the same attention had not been paid to the rooms as it has to the bars and restaurant areas.

Breakfast time |
The best thing about this hotel had to be the breakfast. There was just soooooooooooooo much choice. From different types of juices and teas to breads, cereals, fruit, cooked breakfasts, cakes and even desserts.
I would definitely stay here again just for the breakfast, it was better then going to the Good Food Show.
Cleanliness - 5/5
The room, bathroom and all the areas around the hotel were immaculate.
Comfort - 3/5
The room was cosy yet basic. The bed was comfortable but very squeaky.
Location - 5/5
As mentioned before, the location is really convenient and allows you to see the nightlife of Birmingham easily
Staff - 5/5
The staff were very friendly, especially Ash at the reception.
Value for Money - 5/5
Prices start from £54, which is pretty good, especially considering that includes breakfast
