Back in the 90's, it was fashionable to have lines as eyebrows but with eyebrow icons, like Cara Delevingne, that has now changed. With the surge in demand for threading, this means the supply of eyebrow bars has also surged. So which one do you choose and how? Well it's all through trial and error but here's my take on Benito Brow Bar.
I was invited along to try out Benito Brow Bar, situated at the back of Debenhams, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I normally go to my local beauticians because it's £2.50 and she does the job just fine but fine is not what you get at Benito Brow Bar.
I never realised that Benito Brow Bar is a franchise that originates from Marco Benito in Birmingham's Piccadilly Arcade.
The one thing that puts me off about these eyebrow places, is the fact that you are in the middle of the shop and there is no privacy.
But that does not seem to be an issue at Benito Brow Bar because they have a room that can be private or public at a click of a switch. I thought that was ingenious and means that they have resolved an issue that many women have. I mean, no one wants to be watched whilst getting her moustache threaded, or that is just me!
My eyebrow therapist was Rajwinder, before the thread was in her hand, she handed me a mirror and discussed with me how I wanted my brows. Then she did one and showed me and then did the other. It was truly professional and enjoyable and I trusted her not to make them super thin and knew (somehow) that she would listen to my preferences. I have had some bad experiences in the past but this was not one of the them. Then Chetna came and gave me a facial massage, a added perk for customers when it is not very busy.
It would normally be £13 for the treatment, which is quite steep and a lot more then I would normally pay but I feel that it would be worth it and it would entail no risk. Also if it is done once in a while then the cost is not so bad.
They also do lashes and I am intrigued to see how they would turn out.
Overall, I enjoyed the treatment and think I will be going back.
There are so many brow bars now, from Benefit's version to Blink Brow Bar to even the version inside Superdrug in Bullring. Benito Brow Bar however, is the original but I do wonder how or if they differ.
Do you have a preference? Do you just prefer your local salon?
