A week or so ago, I was invited to stay at Malmaison in the Mailbox and I have to say it is the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at.
The hotel is located in The Mailbox, so it is in the central part of Birmingham and is easy to get to from anywhere and is around 5 minutes from New Street Station.

I was staying on the 7th floor of the hotel, which just had a view of the rooms opposite but I found the decor really exquisite, especially the colours. It was very rich vibrant colours and everything was very plush. I have to say it definitely out does StayBridge Apartments and Rotunda in that sense.
Within the bathroom was some toiletries that also had the luxurious feel to them.
Bathroom, with built in toilet and towel rail |
The bathroom was also a mini gem in the hotel room and was equally as impressive.
I was greeted with some cakes, which was a lovely surprise and a card that accompanied it.
Complete VIP treatment.
Mini-bar goodies |
There was a menu in the room was for the Brasserie.
The room had the usual mod-cons and a minibar.
The bed was huge at Queen size and it is probably big enough for two people to sleep completely separate. Right opposite was a television with free view and DVD player.
Cupboard with hangers and ironing board |
In the cupboard was a tray with tea and coffee facilities, an iron, a bag for dry cleaning and a hair dryer.
There was toast with butter, jams, honey, fruit salad, cornflakes, soya milk and orange juice.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. The bed was comfortable, the room was luxuriously beautiful and it had all you could want in a room and more. I have a lactose intolerance so I called the Brasserie to see what they could do and they were able to alter it so I could eat it. I was really impressed and didn't want to leave. The location was perfect for me to get the train from New Street to work. The whole experience was really good and I cannot wait to go back. I would definitely recommend this place if you're having a night out in Birmingham, want a night away or just want a romantic getaway then I say go to the Malmaison.
Thank you to Malmaison for making my stay so enjoyable.
(My stay was free but the review is 100% my opinion)
