Sorry for neglecting you, can't believe its been so long since I last blogged.
It was summer, now its winter. You do the math.
Anyways alot has changed and some-things haven't changed at all.
I graduated, worked at HMV as a temp, met Dara O'Brian (random), went to London on my own to see my bff, realised the brilliance of a Brazilian wax, learned how to do my hair and kinda realised what I wanted to do with my life.
Ever since uni finished, its like trying to fill the void that uni used to fill. Friends, lectures, seminars, clubbing, dinner, essay-writing and streaming TV is now replaced with job searching, meeting up with old friends, watching TV and working at my temp jobs. As you can tell its not the same and never will be. My best friends no longer live in the next room or a short bus ride away. However we are constantly in touch so all is not lost. Uni days were the best free days of my life and always will be, without it I wouldn't be planning to go live in London now.
It seems I have 4 sets of friends - Uni friends, Work friends, College friends and School friends. Which means im always in demand. Which means I can never be without company or a dinner partner. But we are all trying to achieve the same thing - The perfect job, so time is somewhat taken.
Happy New Year!!!!
Last year was full of some good movies, TV and music.
Firstly there was the last instalment of the Harry Potter series.
I gotta say I enjoyed it but the ending was so disappointing, So much more detailed in the books and just a better picture. It was kinda cool to see the characters at an older age on screen but could've been alot better. Overall a 8 out of 10.
Next there was Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon.
It was action packed but the action got a little boring after a while. It was just repetition of the other movies in the series. But Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley stole the show with her beauty. She became my girl crush and definite made her mark. The humour was good but they have to refresh and change the tact of the movies. Overall a 6 out of 10 (Thats just for Rosie)
Of course Breaking Dawn has to be mentioned.
It was more intense, more action packed and overall was pretty awesome.
Very similar to the book but obviously dulled down for the young teenage audience. I wish they had made the movie an 18 and gone all out on staying true to the books. This is what let the movie down. They all look better the acting has improved ten fold.
Overall a 8 out of 10.
A couple of other good movies I saw were The Green Hornet and Friends with Benefits.
Green Hornet was humourous, action-packed and actually made logical sense. Seth Rogan never disappointments with his humour and unique laugh. But his partner in crime, Kato, was the scene grabber for me. With his Bruce Lee like moves and intelligence of a mastermind. Seriously enjoyed this movie, eventhough I saw it in 2012.
Overall 9 out of 10.
Friends with Benefits was my movie of the year and I saw it about 5 times. Yes im a huge Justin Timberlake fan and have a girl crush on Mila Kunis but the movie is funny and their chemistry is quite interesting to watch. Their one liners and constant take on the state of rom-coms made this movie for me.
Definite 10 out of 10.
The Black Swan was my 2nd movie of the year. Because of its release early in 2011, it doesn't feel like it was last year. With its number of gothic troupes that all related to my study in Gothic Fiction, made me love this movie. Its dark, dangerous and twisted and I loved it.
10 out of 10.
Midnight in Paris, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bridesmaids, Bad Teacher, Rango were also some movies I saw but I thought they were mediocre and slightly dull. So not really worth mentioning.
My playlist was full of Katy B, Frank Ocean and The Weeknd. These 3 artists have mixtapes/albums that I have had on loop and will probably continue this on into 2012. However I also discovered some tunes from yesteryear that also continue to like.
Ringer, Beavis and Butthead, Ice Loves Coco, Kim Kardashian's numurous shows and The X Factor make my list of good tv. Ringer being the best of them all.
So thats all I have to say on my catch-up post.
Toodles Bitches
xx
