Vegan Festive options at Pieminister

I love pies, as you know from my previous post about them, and I love that Pieminister is coming out with more and more vegan options, now including a new pie and side, with a festive theme.

Going vegan at Panache

As you guys know by now, I love to discover new places. Especially those that cater to a vegan diet. So I got invited to try out Panache, an eatery that specialises in Indian cuisine, based in Sutton Coldfield. They have a vegan menu and it's the perfect location for a fancy meal. But how did the vegan options fare?

Vegan Boss-ing it at Boston Tea Party

Beside Wayland's Yard, I am yet to find a substantial vegan brunch option. Until Boston Tea Party came out with The Vegan Boss!

Have you tried the vegan menu at The Green House?

I will travel anywhere for good food, I blame my family for this. As we have travelled to Leicester, Manchester and even London for the sake of good food. Yep, that's where my foodie ways come from. So I didn't hesitate to travel over to Sutton Coldfield, when I was invited over to try out the vegan options at The Green House, a recently refurbished pub, bar and restaurant.

Can you eat vegan at Aluna?

When I think of bar food, I think of chips, burgers, maybe a greasy curry. This is why it's surprising when I get invited to bars to try out their vegan options. Don't get me wrong, I friggin' love chips but it's always nice to have something a little different. I was excited to try out Aluna, as their sister brand is Siamais, and their vegan options are ace.

Vegan Options at Arket

Slowly but surely, Birmingham is getting some of the best stores on to our high street. Monki is due to open next year and I hope that we get an And Other Stories soon too. A store that recently opened was Arket, a retailer with a Nordic vibe. Best thing is the store has a cafe inside. Perfect for when you need a sit down or snack because shopping has become just so tiring.

Why I became vegan

Hi all!

Way back when I started blogging, it was my place of catharsis. The place I would go to vent, my online journal basically. 2 name changes, a graduation and 8 years later, it's became Nutella Tasha, my vegan review Birmingham blog. However, it feels like my content has become a little stiff, so I'm going back to my roots with this post.

Keeping it vegan at The Lost & Found

Just when you think you have seen and tasted all the vegan options in Birmingham, another one springs up or comes to your attention. It's not a bad problem to have, it's one I love to be honest. I used to frequent The Lost & Found a lot when I first moved back to Birmingham after university but I just fell out of love with the place, I'm not sure why. So I was happy to be invited to the bar/restaurant, as I haven't been there since they refurbished the place and rejigged the menu.

Vegan options at Yo Sushi

Sushi is one of my favourite things. Especially the options at Yo Sushi. However, the vegan options at this eatery aren't that vast, until now. Their new menu has seen them do a complete rejig, which has birthed 9 new vegan options! I went to go try out these options on the day the new menu has launched.

New vegan options at Pieminister

I have visited Pieminister a number of times since I reviewed them last time in 2017. Especially since Kevin was launched. The thing that I thought was lacking was vegan sides to accompany the vegan pie. However, they have now rectified that with their new vegan options and they even have a Sunday Best option, which combines a sunday roast with a pie. I wasn't able to visit on a Sunday, I intend to very soon, but I did visit on a Tuesday.

MPW

The first time I tried Marco Pierre White in The Cube, Birmingham, they served me dairy products and store bought cakes, so it didn't leave me enthused about the eatery. Since then they have rectified the situation but their vegan items have never been very exciting. So with this in mind, I visited the eatery to try out a three-course meal and listen to some 80s live music by Elegant Entertainment. I love live music, so this swayed me to go more than the food, and that says something!

Wok to Walk

It's lunchtime, you need something quick and tasty, where do you go? I tend to go to my foolproof list of places but there are so many more that have popped up that have so much potential. One of which is Wok to Walk, which is literally what it says on the tin. You're meant to enjoy the dishes on the go. I was invited to the eatery to try out their vegan options and see more of what they are about.

What are the vegan options like at Rose Villa Tavern?

So many people think that vegan food is super healthy and consists of quinoa and raw cakes. Some of it does but the best vegan food is junk food, such as burgers, pizza, kebabs, fries, wings and nachos. I was promised the filthiest of vegan food when I was invited to review the vegan options on the new menu at the Rose Villa Tavern in the Jewellery Quarter. Read on to find out how it was.

Vegan Ice-Cream Review: Miiro

I've been dairy-free for around three years and vegan since earlier this year and recently, I've been overjoyed by the amount of vegan ice-creams on the market. However, one of the first I tried was Miiro, around 2 years ago. They have 3 flavours and I wanted to see how three flavours of this vegan magnum-esque tasted. I've only tried the peanut butter flavour so I was so happy when they got in touch to send over boxes of the ice-cream for me to try. Read on to see my verdict.

The Alchemist

When you think of The Alchemist, the first thing that comes to mind will most likely be their visually appealing cocktails. However, I have heard mixed reviews about their food and was intrigued to try it out, especially to see what their vegan options would be like. Will it be a case of falafel and hummus or something innovative? Read on to find out.

Seggiano Pesto and Pasta

After travelling to Rome, Verona and Venice, I have a greater appreciation for pasta. Especially good pasta! So I was sent the Raw Basil Pesto and Rice and Teff Tagliolini from Seggiano to try out. I was intrigued by the fact the pesto was vegan and that the pasta was rice and teff flavour. As well as being gluten free and vegan. Would it be bitter? Would it taste nice? What would it be like?

5 Things I Love about Zak Designs Bowls

Normally, I write reviews of the vegan options that I try at restaurant in and around Birmingham. But today is a little different. I'm reviewing dinnerware, in particular Zak Designs Buddha Bowl, Poke Bowl and Acai Bowl with chopsticks, soy sauce dishes and soup ladles. So let's bowl so hard!

Vegan Options at The Courtyard Restaurant

Trying somewhere new can be so nerve-wracking, especially when you've been invited. As you want them to excel with their vegan food options and customer service because writing a negative review is no fun, trust me. With this insecurity, I went to The Courtyard Restaurant. A restaurant that is situated in Conference Aston, that is a part of Aston University.

Vegan Marshmallows

There are certain things that you think you are never going to have again once you go vegan. One of which is marshmallows. So when Freedom Mallows got in touch, I was intrigued to see what the marshmallows would taste like. Would they be soft? Would they taste like marshmallows or plastic?

Vegan Brunch at Chung Ying Cantonese

In my opinion, brunch time is the best time. It's normally accompanied by avo on toast and a lovely oat latte. However, this isn't the case at Chung Ying Central. Their Chinese Brunch Menu contains dim sum, congee, claypot rice, noodle soup and even seasonal vegetables. But I bet you're wondering what the vegan options are like? Well, I tried them out for you!

Head of Steam: First Impressions

For some reason, Birmingham is the last to get a number of chains. We've only just got a Revolution de Cuba but still waiting on a Wahaca or Hard Rock Cafe. Which is why it is good to see Head of Steam make its way head first into Birmingham. I was invited along to the pub/eatery to try out their vegan food and drinks on one of their soft launches. Let's just say their vegan options are interesting...

Revolution de Cuba

All of a sudden, it seems as if Birmingham has been struck by lots of new eateries. One of which is Revolution de Cuba on Temple St. The eatery has a very warm party vibe that is cosy but loud. I am such an old women when it comes to music. I like places where I dine to have the music somewhat low, so I can talk to my dining partner. Is that just me? So, what are the vegan options like at Revolution de Cuba?

RSC Vegan High Tea

High Tea isn't something I do everyday, especially now I'm vegan. I also had a negative experience having Afternoon Tea at Harvey Nichols in Birmingham, which put me off. But when I was invited to the Rooftop Restaurant at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, I knew I had to go and see what they offered. I'm so glad I did!

First Impressions of the Vegan Options: Comptoir Libanais

I love Lebanese food, as you guys know by now, I frequently visit my local Lebanese places for their falafel, hummus and generally amazing vegan options. This is why it was good to hear that a Lebanese place was going to take over Birmingham City Centre, in Grand Central to be exact. As always I was intrigued to see what their vegan offerings would be at Comptoir Libanais and how their would fare in comparison to others such as Al Bader and Damascena. I remember visiting and enjoying the food at the eatery when I was in Westfield in London but I was eating meat at the time, so I had high hopes.

7 Things You Must See, Do and Eat in Rome

My birthday is normally marked with a little getaway and this year, that getaway was to Rome. The beautiful city is a wonderful place to explore and Italians are just so lovely, that it's hard not to love it. Time after time, we were astounded by the generosity and just how much they went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were a little unlucky with the weather, it was rainy and cold, but the blue sky came out for my birthday so all was not lost and we still enjoyed this city immensely. With that being said, I have listed my top 7 things that I am glad I did, from vegan meals to touristy things, whilst on my holiday in Rome.

Bodega New Menu: Vegan Options

When you enjoy food at a certain restaurant and they change the menu, it can send you into a panic. Unless those options improve. For instance, my favourite thing on Bodega's menu used to be the Mahi Mahi with sweet potato mash. It was amazing but it was taken off the menu long before I decided to stop eating fish. They then introduced new veggie options and I found a new favourite but now, Bodega have decided to change things again. Is it for the better? What are the vegan options like on this new menu? All questions are answered below.

Wayland's Yard: Vegan Options

When a new place opens up in Birmingham, I make it my mission to go and check out their vegan options. For research purposes, obviously. It's even better when I get invited to try out that said new place. So, today's newest place is Wayland's Yard and I, along with a large number of other Brum Bloggers, ventured to the new eatery to see what this Worcester-based eatery had to offer to us Brummies.

First Impressions: Vegan Options at All Bar One

After watching Black Panther, my friend and I were looking around Brindley Place for somewhere to eat dinner. We stumbled upon All Bar One and saw they had kept their Veganuary menu. And it was on offer, which allows you to have two courses for £10.50. Not bad, right? So, how was the food?

Vegan Food Festival at Pushkar

When you think of Broad St in Birmingham, you don't think of a good curry. At least I don't! I think of the renowned street that is full of bars, clubs and chicken shops that Birmingham is infamously known for. However, the restaurant that is changing this perception is Pushkar. Especially with their Vegan Food Festival menu, that is running until 28th February.

Vegan Options at Toby Carvery

When you think of a carvery, you don't think vegan, right? At least I don't. This is why I was sceptical to try out Toby Carvery but I was invited and thought why not. Let's see this what this is all about. I'll be honest with you guys, I've never been to a Toby Carvery before but would I go back? Read on to find out.
