Having IBS means I can't have caffeine or dairy, which has taken a lot of getting used to. As both were a major part of my diet once upon a time. These days, my hot drink alternative is herbal teas, which is normally of the peppermint tea variety, sometimes loose and sometimes in a teabag. So when I got an email from the lovely people at Dragonfly Tea, I was intrigued to see how their teas would compare in comparison to what I normally have.
I got two out of the 10 luxury whole leaf teas from the Tea House collection, which was launched to celebrate Dragonfly Tea's 15th anniversary.
First up, it was all about Garden Mint & Verbena Infusion. A caffeine-free tea that blends peppermint and lemon verbena. This was recommended to me because of my love of peppermint tea and it did not disappoint. I like how fresh it tasted and how the citrus flavour worked with the peppermint. I'm no tea connoisseur, I am still learning about all things tea but this tasted like good quality tea to me. It was very similar to loose leaf tea but in a tea bag. As you can see from the picture below, there is no tea dust or crap in these teas. It's all real, baby!
I normally like to add a touch of ginger to my smoothies and I have had ginger in my tea in the past. I find that it can be hard to strike a good balance of what the right amount of ginger is. Too much and it overpowers everything and too little and it will do nothing and will be overpowered. With this in mind, I tried Dragonfly Tea's Lemongrass & Ginger Infusion. It had a very cleansing taste and it had struck the right balance. I have to say that I prefer the Garden Mint & Verbena Infusion because it is more to my taste but I did enjoyed this tea too. I especially liked how it helped my digestive system and how it made me feel warm. Again, just take a look at the image below and you will see how these tea infusions have a base of real high quality ingredients.
I really enjoyed trying these teas and being introduced to Dragonfly Tea. I especially liked the packaging, quality, the teabags themselves and the fact the teas could be used twice per tea bag and infused so well. Also a box is under £5 and you get 15 teabags in it. Good value too! I highly recommend to all and I look forward to trying more.
**I received these teas via a PR company but my views were my own**
