The concept of a Beauty Personal Shopper is new to me and is definitely a new concept in Birmingham too but not for long, especially if Rose Gallagher has anything to do with it.
Rose is a Beauty Blogger at Mixed Gems, she has worked at Illamasqua and has quite the Beauty CV under her belt; So she knows her stuff!Rose invited me along to see what the Beauty Personal Shopping Experience is all about and find out about the goings-on in the Beauty Department. And wowzers, there is alot. The two pictures above feature the Giorgio Armani Perfumes but there is an extra special one, that is in the glass case, that is rare and smells so stunning. The best thing about the bottles is that the precious gems on top of the bottle, they symbolise the scent. I tested this out and the colours and definition of the gems definitely fits. This is a luxury buy that I will be treating myself to in the future, maybe an added incentive to FINALLY get a job on the right career ladder.
Next Rose took me to the Chanel counter where there is a perfume table and an assistant will talk through your favourite scents and together you pick your perfect fit. I thought this was a genius idea, one I hadn't seen before and the layout of the section makes you feel as if you are in an office, not a 4 storey department store. It is nice that Selfridges is embracing perfumes now and not just make-up.
Have you spotted these Limited Edition Collections? At around 35 pounds, it is a bargain for a nail polish, lipstick and lipgloss. Not forgetting the perfect colour coordinated bag to go with it. You won't need to go around looking for the perfect colour match, it is ready and waiting for you!
Now onto Shu Uemura, a brand I have not paid much attention to in the past but they have some beautiful shades and the pigmentation was intensely beautiful. The palettes are well priced and there is an option to pick your own shades. It was nice talking to the lady at the counter, she was very friendly and full of knowledge about the brand. This friendliness is something that has lacked for me in the Beauty Hall in Selfridges but I am glad to see that is changing.
Me and the ultra-glam Rose |
An hour and a half flew by with Rose, her knowledge is refreshing and you can see her passion for Beauty, the best thing there is no push to but the experience is more about educating. I plan to go back soon and finally find the ultimate nude shade for me.
At the end of my appointment, I had my nails painted by a Chanel Makeup Artist, this was a promotion that they were doing at the time, no special treatment just yet.
Doesn't the Chanel Garden look beautiful? |
Overall, it is a refurbishment that was long overdue and I cannot wait to see what else arises soon.
Thank you to Rose for allowing me to undergo the Beauty Personal Shopping Experience.
Until next time
